Discover BMW In-Car Digital Business Services

Thanks to the integration of Microsoft Exchange and the forthcoming availability of Skype for Business, BMW allows you to transform your vehicle into a mobile office so that you can make your commute time pass more efficiently.

BMW is the first automaker to features Microsoft Exchange, allowing you secure, in-car access to your email accounts. Now you can resist the dangerous urge to check your smartphone for emails, calendar info and contact information while you're driving. Compose emails and schedule appointments through voice control, with incoming emails and appointment changes shown on the Control Display. You can even import addresses for your appointments into the vehicle's navigation system.

Coming this fall, BMW will also feature Microsoft's Skype for Business. The fully-integrated unified communications solution is operated through the iDrive system, so upcoming Skype meetings are identified on the Control Display; to participate, simply press the iDrive controller.

In a press release, Dieter May, Senior Vice President Digital Products and Services, declared, "With BMW Connected we offer a wide range of digital services designed to help users with their daily mobility needs inside and outside of the car. We seek to continuously extend and enhance the customer experience with regard to all aspects of their mobility. The integration of productivity features in-car (like Exchange and Skype for Business) and personalized and contextual services will help customers with their day-to-day work and planning while they are on the road."
