Kelley Blue Book Takes a Look at the Electrifying 2018 BMW i3
Recently, an expert from Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com took a close look at the 2018 BMW i3. The reviewer pointed out that the vehicle pairs unconventional design with advanced technology to create an electric vehicle that stands apart from its competition.
The expert noted that the ACC Stop & Go + Active Driving Assistant advanced safety system feature, which is part of the Technology and Driving Assistant Package, helps keep the i3 a designated distance from the car ahead when you're driving more than 19 mph.
Another favorite available feature of the reviewer's was the Parking Assistant, which essentially parallel parks the i3 for you at the touch of a button (once a proper parking space has been located). The autonomous system controls the vehicle's steering, braking and acceleration — and even controls the gear selection!
The i3 makes use of an electric motor that's powered by a lithium-ion battery and generates 170 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque, with an electric-only driving range of 114 miles. You can opt for a range-extended model that adds a supplemental gasoline engine — that serves only as a generator — to add another 66 miles of driving range.
